Griffith Observatory Web Design

GOAL
The Griffith Observatory website needed a design upgrade, since they are trying to appeal to a younger crowd. This is a web design created in Photoshop to show what their new website could look like. They wanted something more modern, colorful, but also needed to make sure that their information is well displayed to not confuse the viewer.

CHALLENGES
The first challenge I came across was organizing the large amount of information they wanted to include without making it look cluttered. The other challenge I faced was making everything look cohesive because the photos I chose were not matching my color theme.

SOLUTIONS
The information I pulled from their current website needed to categorized in a better way. The client allowed me to leave out some of the less important information to avoid clutter. I was able to break up everything into three different sets of buttons, which allowed for a less confusing browsing experience. The cohesion problem I was facing was easily fixed with color overlays I placed over the images to act as a filters to give them a similar look.
